The
shooting on the estate is currently
managed in 5 “beats”, each comprising
approximately three drives per half-day, so as
to present where possible tailor-made sport to
suit our parties. Thus we can provide days made
up of the following:
- driven pheasant and partridge (full day or half
of full day),
- driven partridge, (half of full day),
- semi-driven pheasant, partridge, woodcock, snipe,
duck (full day),
- duck flighting (evenings).

The highly varied terrain lends itself to many very different drives, with birds driven from high hill-bracken on the moorland edge, and also from woodland
and game covert. Some of the highest drives are dedicated to pheasant. There is a ring of hill, about a mile round, riven with gullies, dedicated to partridge. Here they fly like driven grouse.
These include moor-land, game-coverts, woodland, marsh, loch-side and ponds.
The loch is 1 ½ miles in length, and there are several flight-ponds on the estate.
The duck are principally wild, some are reared. Geese flight in when they want to.
Driven days are intended to return 100 - 200 birds.
Semi-driven days are intended to return 75 birds.
Walked-up days are intended to return 50 birds.
For full-driven days, elevenses, shooting lunch and tea is included for 8 guns.
For smaller days, light lunch can be arranged at the steading or in a local pub.
