The
shooting on the estate is currently
managed in 4 “beats”, each comprising
approximately three drives per half - day, so as
to present where possible tailor-made sport to
suit our parties. Thus we can provide days made
up of the following:
- driven pheasant and partridge (full day or half
of full day),
- driven partridge, like grouse (half of full day),
- walked up pheasant, partridge, woodcock, snipe,
duck (full day),
- duck flighting.
The drives are varied in type, with birds driven from hill-bracken, woodland
and game covert, and including drives of mainly pheasant and partridge, one drive
of very high pheasant and partridge, several drives of high partridge, some of
grouse-like partridge, etc.
These include game-coverts, woodland, marsh, loch-side and ponds.
There is a loch of 1 ½ miles and several flight-ponds on the estate.
The duck are principally wild, some are reared.
Driven days are intended to return 100 - 150+ birds.
Mixed days are intended to return 50 - 100+ birds.
Walked-up days are intended to return 50+ birds.
Elevenses, shooting lunch and tea is on offer.
